General information
- The description of Global Teenager Project
The Global Teenager Project (GTP) offers thematic Learning Circlescountries,
- What are International Learning Circles
The powerhouse behind the Global Teenager Project is called the 'Learning Circle', a proven concept created by Dr. Margaret Riel. Learning Circles are virtual environments for intercultural exchange and learning. Twice a year, under professional guidance, groups of 8 to 12 classes from all over the world form a Learning Circle by linking up via e-mail or World Wide Web. If applicable in the school context, new communication tools such as weblogs, wikis and chats are used as well. The discussions in the circles are conducted in English, French, Spanish, German, Dutch and Arabic. In several countries national or regional Learning Circles are developed in local languages. The teacher plays a key role in the process. The classes select a theme from a shortlist of topics such as health, environment, human rights, globalisation or simply 'my life'. For the next 10 weeks the pupils in each Learning Circle communicate via email or wikis on that one topic, using a structured six phase method. See www.globalteenager.org

It's great working with Bob and Elke! I am very excited to start with this new learning adventure together with the rest of our GTP partners. It's indeed a great opportunity to connect with the rest of the learners of the world and learn from them too!
